Venn, Queen Street Perth

We have had a many a drink at the bar on a Friday or Saturday night but would you know that Venn also serve a mean coffee during daylight hours.

Venn is tucked away from the hectic Perth shopper crowds on Queen Street in a 1906 flour mill and this nifty place is an art gallery, design shop, artists’ studios and bar/cafe. Owners Desi Litis and Jade Rubino strongly support Australian artists and the art gallery is the perfect place to view and appreciate local works.

The interior of the building has been completely transformed with high voids, exposed raw bricks, restored timber, glass and use of neon lights and grey colours. Often referred to as an ‘art and design concept space’, Venn covers 3 levels of the building including an open air rooftop terrace. If you happen to visit Venn you have to take a look around as it is the envy of many an architect and for further verification, online bloggers  Habitus Living and Australian Design Review  will tell you that the design is absolutely awesome!

Having just had breakfast at The Small Print on St Georges Terrace, we much to my sadness skipped the breakfast menu – there just was no room in my tummy! No doubt I will be back again next weekend to try the breakfast or the fresh rolls I spotted  in the glass counter.

The coffees were served with double shots, nice and strong. The wine, beer and cider menu is also available, so rather if you prefer to start your day with a beer instead of a coffee well it is completely possible at Venn. The beer menu is rather impressive with a nice selection of Australian beers, definitely a place to bring international visitors!

Cappuccino ($4.00)
