Barchetta
Christmas has passed and the weather here in Perth is sitting around 39 degrees to 41 degrees for the next few days to come, we never thought summer would arrive after a very cool November & December. Well, here it is! The scorching sun during the day keeps you either inside in air conditioning or in the water.We opted for the comforts of air conditioning at the beach!
Very few places are open on boxing day however Barchetta surely was, it is located at North Cottesloe Beach (next to the Blue Duck) and perfectly positioned for one to soak in that beautiful view across the Indian Ocean. The cafe is nicely positioned on the sand dunes, s a perfect spot for coffee after a walk along the beach or a dip in that refreshingly cold water. The beach directly below is patrolled by fit looking Aussie lifeguards.
We sat on the terrace and ordered a few coffees, having consumed far too much food on Christmas Day we skipped the food menu on offer.
Cappuccino ($4.00)
I could not fault the coffees at all, they were strong and temperature hot. The speedy service made us very happy customers as we both were ‘dying’ for our caffeine fix. The staff were fantastic and even though we were only there for a coffee, they made us feel so welcome. I can say as a result of the service today I do plan on returning to try the breakfast menu, thank you!

Barchetta is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I noticed they serve wood fired pizzas – a perfect dish for a hot summer day! Breakfast is served until 11.15 am. The cafe is fully licensed which means you can enjoy an Australian wine or beer watching the sunset or heck a champagne over breakfast.
Free parking is available along Marine Parade.
