Kahawa Cafe is an African inspired cafe located in Claremont on Davies Road, not too far from the Claremont Primary School and local swimming pool.
It is nestled in a row of local shops and has a great casual neighbourhood welcoming feel as you walk in to place your order. Kahawa Cafe serve a superb coffee and just recently we thought we sampled their breakfast menu.
Coffee art often signals a talented barista and we were pleased the coffees turned out to be exceptionally strong, smooth and hot in addition to the lovely art etched in the milk froth.
The breakfast menu offers some good choices and the glass counter top has an array of sweet options to compliment your coffee.
The savannah breakfast was served with Turkish bread, 2 poached eggs, a good serving of bacon and a chilli avocado salsa! The highlight was definitely the chilli salsa and my international friends will agree with me that it is rather rare in Perth to find a place that serves chilli alternatives with breakfast! The salsa and the bacon went so well together. The salsa was served in a small bowl allowing me to eat it as I pleased.
The breakfast special was a wholemeal bagel packed with egg, bacon and avocado and made for a good ‘mans’ breakfast.
I could not resist the gingerbread finger and so i ordered one to go with my sugarless coffee. It was delicious, I love ginger!
The exotically decorated cafe opens onto a patio providing a nice alfresco area and dogs are very welcome! There is a bus stop close by as well as a bicycle rack (easy access from the Claremont train station). Free parking is available.
Having been to a few places around the area for coffee, I have to make mention that the service here is perfect. The owners actively run the cafe and their staff have manners!
